Consultations
Our most popular and helpful services tend to be our one-hour consultations. We design your consultation around a specific issue you’re having or a topic you’d like to learn more about. Each consultation includes a review of up to 2,500 words about your project along with a recording of the consultation.
Here are some sample topics for Newbie Authors:
- Clarifying your book concept.
- Assessing what type of publishing would work best for you.
- Mapping out a plan for your writing and/or revising your book.
- Exploring how to build you author platform and your credibility.
- Identifying potential marketing strategies.
- Check out other topics and details about consultations.
Please note that consultations do not include:
- Editing or editorial notes about your work.
- A post-meeting review of your revised work.
We do, however, offer additional services such as manuscript critiques, book proposal critiques, and author platform assessments. See Stand-Alone Services for more details.
And if you'd like to work more closely with us on a project, check out our Mentoring Packages. Authors who've completed a consultation within the last 12 months will get booking preference and a discount on the 3- and 6-month mentoring packages.

If you're ready for a deeper dive and to work more closely with us, we offer a limited number of mentoring packages for 1, 3, or 6 months. Each Mentoring Package is designed to collaborate with you on a project of your choice to set actionable goals and craft a plan to help you achieve them.
- The Test Drive: This is a great entry point for a small project or putting together an action plan for a big project (4 weeks for $599)
- The Kick Starter: This provides a deeper dive into a project with editorial feedback on 30 pages and coaching (available in 3- or 6-month packages)
- Revved Up: This is the souped-up mentoring package provides a deeper dive into a project with editorial feedback on 50 pages plus a revision, coaching, and additional perks (available in 3- or 6-month packages)
Discounts are available for authors who've completed a One-Off Consultation in the last 12 months.
