Want the VIP treatment? If you’re ready to do a project from start to finish with both coaching and two rounds of editorial notes and feedback on a larger work, the Revved Up package is your access-all-areas pass!

We’ll work with you to decide on a project that’s achievable within the selected time frame, develop a project plan, and coach you through the process. We will also provide two rounds of editorial notes on your work and develop a post-package project plan. At the end, you will have made significant progress on your work in progress (WIP) or project and will have an actionable plan for moving forward.

Time Commitment: 3 or 6 months

Prerequisites:

An initial One-Off Consultation is recommended, and a discount is available for clients who have completed the consultation within 12 months before application. A $300 discount will be applied to the package price.
Application (including your bio, a description of your project, and a possible direction for your mentoring package)
50 pages (12,500 words) of a work in progress, a pitch package, a book proposal, or other relevant project materials

What's Included

Preliminary Review

Before the initial consultation, we will review up to 12,500 words (50 manuscript pages) of your work and will provide editorial notes. The submission can include any of the following for a total of 12,500 words:

Chapters from your work in progress (WIP)
An outline of your book
A long or short synopsis of your work
A book proposal
A combination of materials, such as a 2-page synopsis, a query letter, plus pages from your WIP
Initial notes for marketing plans
Other relevant materials for your project

Initial Consultation

One initial 90-minute meeting (via phone or Zoom or in person in Austin, pending COVID restrictions) to tailor your mentoring package to your book and/or your writing/publishing goals and discuss the editorial notes.
The goal of the meeting will be to agree upon objectives and action steps that will help you make progress during the term of your mentoring package.

Project Plan

After the initial meeting, we will prepare a project plan for the duration of the mentoring package.
For the wrap-up meeting, we will provide a take-away plan with action steps to follow after the end of the mentorship.

Monthly Amenities

A 60-minute meeting (via phone or Zoom) in each of the following months to review your progress, recalibrate your goals and action plan for the next month, and discuss any specific issues or concerns.
An e-mail check-in on each week between calls

Editorial Review

1st Round: We will provide editorial notes for the initial submission package.
2nd Round: At the wrap-up meeting, we'll review editorial notes for a revised or new excerpt of your work of up to 6,250 words (25 pages) for the 3-month package or up to 12,500 words (50 pages) for the 6-month package.

Wrap-Up Consultation

The final month’s meeting will be up to 90 minutes and will focus on the project/editorial notes and set an action plan for you to follow after your mentoring package ends.

Additional Perks for the 6-Month Package

3rd Round of Editorial Review: In Month 3, we will review up to 25 additional or revised pages (6,250 words) of your work and provide editorial notes to discuss at the Month 4 meeting.
Additional Project Plan Revision: After the Month 3 meeting, we will prepare a revised project plan for the remaining 3 months of the mentoring package.

The Fine Print

Please note the following:

Mentoring Packages are subject to availability.
Preference will be given to clients who have completed a One-Off Consultation within the last 12 months, and those clients will receive a discount for their Mentorship Package fees.
Applications are required before acceptance. We want to make sure we are a good fit for you before processing any fees or scheduling your mentorship.
Upon acceptance, an agreement outlining the details and terms of the mentorship will be presented for your approval.
Once you return the signed agreement with your fee, the mentorship will be scheduled, usually within 60 days of receipt of your signed agreement and payment.
Installment plans are not available for the Test Drive Mentoring Package.
